Virgina Maxine Lipps King, 83 of Belpre, Ohio died at the Willows Nursing Home on July 27, 2010. She was born in Braxton County, WV on July 12, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Homer J. and Alice Blake Lipps. She was a graduate of Parkersburg HIgh School. She had been a beautician for 55 years having retired in January of 2008. She owned and operated Maxine's Trucking, Maxine's Catering, and Maxine's Beauty Shop. She had been a member of the Belpre Chamber of Commerce, and was active in the Belpre school community helping to build the football stadium.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Charles Donald King Jr., a son, Micheal W. Stevens of Cutler, Ohio, step-daughter, Candace Bogard of Portland, Maine, stepson, Charles A. King of Cincinnati, Ohio, her brother, Lloyd Lipps of Little Hocking, Ohio, her sister, Barbara Eddy of Little Hocking, Ohio, granddaughter, Misty Douglass, a grandson, Nicholas W. Stevens, and thre great grandchildren, Dakota, Brandi and Dylan Douglass.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, Mary Frame, Bettty Lipps, Robert, Harry, Joe and Carl Lipps.
A Memorial visitation will be on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre.
