James O. Casto, 82, of Parkersburg, died July 26, 2010, at Parkersburg Care and Rehabilitation.
He was born June 7, 1928, in Belleville, a son of the late Fred F. and Ollie Jane Harmon Casto. He was a U.S. Veteran of three branches of service: Navy, Marine and the Army serving in Korea, where he received the Purple Heart Medal.
He was owner and operator of both the North End Gulf for 14 years at the corner of 36th and Emerson Avenue and Gold Oil located on Dudley Avenue. He also owned and operated Casto Vending Company and was a member of the Nemesis Shrine and Masonic Lodge #3 AF&AM.
He is survived by his brother, Harold E. (Nancy) Casto, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Waltraud Kraft Casto; three brothers, Glenn Casto, Fred Casto Jr. and Danny Casto; and an infant sister, Ruth Ann.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with the Rev. Scott Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
